Planes of Fame Air Museum

Gene Soucy Airshows
Gene Soucy is one of the most well-respected and proficient airshow pilots in American aviation. He is a former member of the record-setting Eagles Aerobatic Flight Team, he has been a member of two World Champion U.S. Aerobatic Teams, and he has won more awards than any other active airshow pilot. Innovation and versatility are Gene Soucy’s style. It is no wonder as to why he has rightfully been nicknamed “Mr. Airshow.” At the age of twenty-two, Gene earned a position on the U.S. Aerobatic Team, making him the youngest competitor flying at the World Contest in England held that year. He finished strongly in his Pitts Special and placed 6th overall, which helped the U.S. Team to win its first World Championship. Since that very auspicious beginning, Gene has gone on to gather an impressive competition record. He became a three-time U.S. National Champion and a three-time Canadian National Champion, and he has been an active pilot in the unlimited category since 1969.
Milwaukee Air & Water Show
The Milwaukee Air & Water Show, presented by Waterstone Bank, continues to be Wisconsin’s premier free, family event of the summer and one of the top air shows in the Midwest. As a non-profit, 501c3 organization, we support the local economy, our Armed Services community, and bring visitors to Milwaukee to experience the best our beautiful city has to offer.
Oregon International Air Show
The Oregon International Air Show has been Oregon’s largest aviation event since 1988. Beginning in 2022, we will be holding two outstanding events, in Hillsboro and in McMinnville, reaching combined audiences of over 110,000 people each year.
The Air Show provides financial benefits to non-profit organizations, charities and students throughout SW Washington and Oregon. More than $3.38M million has been donated back to the community and over five hundred different projects have been supported since 1988.
International Council of Air Shows
In 1967, ICAS was founded in the lobby of a Milwaukee hotel when a handful of air show industry professionals recognized the need for an organization to protect and promote their interests in the growing North American air show marketplace. From the beginning, the group recognized the need for standardization of industry practices in key areas such as safety, insurance and the manner in which the industry interacted with government and military officials. By the summer of 1976, the group had incorporated in the State of Wisconsin, “…to provide information to air show sponsors and pilots; to promote safety at all aviation events; and to work with government agencies to develop air show safety standards.”

Texas T-Cart Airshow
The Texas T-Cart is a highly modified, clipped-wing Taylorcraft BC12-D, and first rolled off the assembly line in 1946. Randy spent two years modifying this home built taildragger in his hangar at Cotton Patch Aerodrome in Frisco, Texas.
The wings of the Texas T-Cart have been clipped eight feet for a total wingspan of twenty-eight feet, and the engine is an 180 horsepower Lycoming. It also has both an inverted fuel system specially designed for aerobatics and a smoke oil system that Randy uses during all of his air show performances.
The Yak 110 is the result of many great people coming together with an incredible passion for aviation innovation and is a re-purposing of two aerobatic aircraft that will certainly inspire the next generation of aviation enthusiasts.
This is Rower Airshows, the most exciting, pulse pounding vintage Stearman airshow on the circuit today! Gary Rower, a former USAF F-16 instructor and current airline captain, has flown all over the world, accumulating over 21,000 hours in every type of aircraft imaginable.
Tico Warbird Airshow
Founded in 1977 by a group aviation enthusiasts, veterans, and pilots , The Valiant Air Command, Inc. has grown over the past 44 years from a handful of aircraft to a continually expanding collection of over 50 historic warbirds from the beginnings of aviation to the present day. The Valiant Air Command, Inc. is a 501c(3) educational organization dedicated to the preservation of, education about and commemoration of Warbirds from all eras and the men and women who flew, maintained and fought in them.

Bob Carlton began flying in 1979 at the age of 19. He has since logged over 2000 hours in a wide variety of aircraft and holds a commercial pilot certificate. Bob has flown hang gliders, airplanes, helicopters, and sailplanes from hundreds of sites in the US, Canada, Mexico and Australia. Bob has flown airshows professionally since 1993. He lives in Moriarty, New Mexico with his wife Laurie and their dogs, Ginger & Dewey. He is a member of SSA and ICAS.
Reno Air Races
Over 50 years ago, the first plane went up in the Nevada desert to kick off what would become the STIHL National Championship Air Races and a legacy was born. A legacy of history, heritage and preservation. Of daring, imagination and wonder. Of memories made, traditions formed and legends created one amazing race at a time. Engines roaring. Crowds cheering. Hearts pounding. Eight planes racing wing-tip to wing-tip, 50 feet above the ground at speeds up to more than 500 mph. This is the fastest motorsport on Earth – a one-of-a-kind thrill you have to see, hear and feel to believe. This is classic, cool and contemporary all rolled into one. This is life at 500 miles per hour. This is the STIHL National Championship Air Races. The 2022 STIHL National Championship Air Races will be held September 14-18.
